Work-in-Progress Papers

The Work-in-Progress (WIP) track at EuroHaptics 2022 offers authors the opportunity to share original, high-quality, late-breaking work. Work submitted to the WIP can cover a wide range of topics and can include preliminary research results, technological or design explorations, artistic pursuits, or theoretical provocations.

WIP submissions can represent relatively early stages of technological development or research, but must not be under consideration elsewhere and must not have been published elsewhere.

Important dates

Submission deadline: 05-03-2022

Notification of acceptance: 28-03-2022

Accepted WIP final submission: 01-04-2022

All deadlines are 11:59 pm CET (UTC+1)

Submission details

WIP papers are submitted through the OCS system. Note, that submissions that do not use the right template or that exceed the page limit will be desk-rejected!

The page limit is 3 pages (LNCS single-column format, same as full-paper submissions) including references. You can find the Latex and Microsoft Word templates and the detailed formatting guidelines on this page. On the submission form in OCS, please select 1-3 of the topics listed under “Sessions” that best describe your work.

All accepted WIP papers will be archived as open-access publications in SpringerLink alongside the EuroHaptics 2022 main proceedings, but they will not have individual DOIs.

Review process

WIP submissions will be reviewed by at least one reviewer and the WIP chair. Authors of accepted WIPs are expected to use these reviews to improve their submissions and resubmit them. Timing is crucial: final improved WIPs are due on April 1st. In case of acceptance, if needed, please be prepared to make small changes to your WIP based on the reviewer feedback.

Presentation

Contingent on COVID-19 developments, EuroHaptics 2022 will be organized as an in-person event. At least one author of an accepted WIP is expected to register for the conference under the regular academic or regular categories and to be present in person to present their work. Presentation of WIPs at the conference will be in the form of a poster presentation.

To find more details about the presentation format, please refer to the Presentation Instructions.
